·        The meeting was held in the Bill Sewell room of the Town of Ballston town hall.  Marcella’s of Burnt Hills catered dinner.

·        George Bailey delivered the invocation including a remembrance of Bill Sewell, who had been a member of the club.

·        Many spouses were in attendance.

·        Linda LeTendre welcomed the members and guests, and thanked Ron Serapilio, Mark Gasparovic and Margaret Phillips for making the arrangements for the meeting.

·        It was announced that the Millstone Lodge is reinventing itself as The Burnt Hills Speakeasy, open 7 nights a week.  The associated bar noise precludes our continuing to meet there after the 23 April meeting.  It was noted that the former Old Homestead restaurant is slated for demolition and replacement by a CVS drug store.

·        The Charlton Road Cleanup will be done on Saturday 4/28

·        The spring work-week activities are scheduled for the three Mondays 5/21, 6/4 and 6/11.

·        Clarence Linder took orders for Vidalia onions.

·        Walter Grattidge made an appeal for the display of Rotary banners acquired during visits to other clubs.

·        Bob Youmans led the singing of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

·        Mark Gasparovic collected Happy Dollars.

·        Ron Serapilio introduced the presenters of the evening’s unusual program.  Amber Woermer has been a dancer for 35 years and a dance instructor for 12 years.  She is a former Arthur Murray dance instructor having received her training at the Arthur Murray, Fred Astaire, and other New York City professional schools of dance.  Amber is the ballroom dance instructor at Union College, Albany Medical School, as well as instructor of 3 to 8 year old children in creative movement at the Dance Department in Clifton Park.  She instructs at the Dance Crazy program for inner city schools, and for many years, taught at the Fuze Box in Albany.  Amber says, "Dance is my passion and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be a professional dancer".  She was supported by her partner John, introducing him during the program.

Text Box: Program: Dancing is for Everyone – Amber and John

Amber started the performance wearing a ball gown, demonstrating the waltz with John.  They followed that with an elegant version of the foxtrot.  After her quick costume change to a short dress, she returned to demonstrate two Latin dances the Rumba and the Cha Cha Cha.  These were followed by a lively version of the Jitterbug.

The members and their spouses were invited to Join Amber and John for group dance instruction.  We were led through the box step of the Foxtrot, followed by a reduced-tempo introduction to the steps of the Jitterbug.  All had great time.  Amber and John were warmly thanked for their program.
