Mike Welshhans announced that member Ade Osunmo had been given a new work assignment and is transferring to a new Rotary club.  Mike also conveyed the appreciation of all those at Camp Cloverpatch for our Club’s work on two replacement bridges at Cloverpatch and expressed the hope that the project could be completed prior to a special event at Cloverpatch on May 17.

Laura Linder was congratulated on the handsome picture of her printed in the Schenectady Gazette on Sunday, April 2, along with a lengthy feature story about the Schenectady Museum.  Laura is the Museum’s Registrar and as such maintains a record of all the items the museum possesses.  In unrelated matters, Laura invited Rotarians to participate in the activities on  Charlton Founders’ Day on June 3 and offered to obtain Vidalia onions for those interested in their purchase.

During the Club Assembly, the Community Service Committee reviewed options for service projects in the coming months.  Priority projects are completion of the Camp Cloverpatch bridges, Town in Bloom, and the construction of an access ramp at Mike Welshhans’ new home in Schenectady.  Other possible projects include wooden well covers at the

4H Club in Saratoga County, rainy day painting at Cloverpatch, and a road clean-up day in Charlton.  An activity schedule will be developed shortly.

Report on March 28 InterClub Meeting

Steve Caine reported on the InterClub meeting on March 28 at the Turf Tavern hosted by the Scotia Rotary.  There were 70 people in attendance, including five BHBL Rotarians.  Clubs represented at the meeting were the Rotary Clubs of Glenville, Scotia, and BH-BL; the Glenville Kiwanis; and the Scotia-Glenville Lions.  John Eaton from Scotia Rotary served as MC for the evening.  Mr. Eaton introduced the possibility of a joint dinner to honor First Responders (fire, police, ambulance corps, etc.) from each of our communities.  The Boards of each of the five service clubs will consider the feasibility of such a proposal before a final decision is reached.
