Announcements:
 
President Rey started the meeting with a perfect traditional opening “pride in the Past”. He announced that all future meetings will be at the Homestead except for a special occasion when the Church Ladies will serve Rotary.
 
Mike: (Linda) Mike Welshhans has received the keys to a new home.
 
Ken Crotty: repeat!  Need for help with the New Orleans tragedy was discussed.  A Rotarian Club President in Houston has set up a central location for funds to be sent by Rotary clubs. Ken Crotty will receive checks payable to BH-BL Rotary or they may be made payable to the organization noted on the BH-BL web site.
 
Garry Morrow: Urgent help is needed for the Earthquake victims in Pakistan. Arrangements have been made for Shelter Boxes. Funds were solicited and members volunteered to sponsor one box wjth checks being written immediately. The Happy Dollars bucket was filled and the monies will go to the Rotary Pakistan relief effort.
 
Ron Serapilio: Needs help with the Apple Pie festival and a sign up sheet was passed for the tasks needed. Please let Ron know if you know the quantity of Ice Cream required. Stewart’s will provide the Ice Cream at a discount. Len Porter will be obtaining the door prizes and has a list which anyone is welcome to use and select a donor and make the contact.  Clarence Linder will provide apples and baking pans. The Master of ceremonies has been signed up.
               
Highway Cleanup: Waiting for Town Schedule.
 
Guests and/or Rotarians: Dr. Garrison introduced Bob Cummings from the Glenville Rotary Club, who is a Past District Governor.
 
Mike Welshhans: Reminded us about the American Red Cross Hunger Relief Concert to be held at Roaring Brook Ranch in Lake Luzerne on Thursday, October 27.
 
 
 
 
 
Ron Serapilio introduced Don Boucher and announced his desire to become a               member, which was received with much cheering. Gini Whetten introduced Mali, An exchange teacher from Thailand teaching Thai culture in the BH-BL schools.
